Courageous Conversations: Opening Up About Faith with Loved Ones - 1 Peter 3:15

Do you find it easy to discuss your faith with your family and loved ones? It can be tricky, even daunting, especially if they don't openly prescribe to your beliefs. However, in today's episode, we will dive into an inspiring passage of scripture about having courageous conversations about our faith.

We are equipped and encouraged to share our personal stories about how God is working in our lives. Furthermore, we are meant to show restraint and respect so that others may see the light of Christ through us.

Focus Passage:

1 Peter 3:15 ESV - but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

Main Takeaways:

  • Living a Christian life can inadvertently make others "feel bad" about their own choices

  • We must be consistent and steadfast in claiming our faith in Jesus

  • Be ready to share what God is doing in your life at all times

  • Always be respectful and gentle because it is through a humble spirit and attitude that others will see your transformation

Prayer:

Dear Jesus,

It can be tough to face our family and friends who don’t understand our faith. Help us to have a calm and gentle spirit even as we face persecution, skepticism, or slander. Lord, only you change hearts, minds, and attitudes. We pray for all of our family members and friends who don’t have a relationship with you, and we ask that they encounter your hope, your peace, and your spirit this season.

In Jesus name,

Amen
